Reservations will be guaranteed on receipt of full payment of the cost of the first night of your stay or a credit or debit card number. The Hotel El Gecko reserves the right to release any reservations that are not guaranteed for general sale.

Please note that deposits are only refundable or transferable to a future reservation, if cancelled within the conditions detailed in Section 3.  Deposits are non-refundable if the sufficient cancellation notice has not been given.

Cancellation of your hotel reservation by you – Cancellations must be received by the hotel no later than 12.00 midday, the day prior to your scheduled arrival at the hotel. Cancellations received after this time may be subject to cancellation charges equivalent to the cost of the first night’s accommodation.   We reserve the right to charge any cancellation fees to any credit or debit card used to guarantee your reservation.

Cancellation of your reservation by us – in the unlikely event that we are unable to supply your hotel room as booked for whatever reason, we will inform you of any cancellation or amendment to your reservation as soon as possible and not later than 14 days before the scheduled date of your arrival at the hotel except where circumstances surrounding the cancellation are beyond our reasonable control i.e. force majeure.  In the event of any cancellation or change to your reservation by us you will have the choice of either;
a .  Accepting alternative accommodation at a suitable local hotel of equal standard to the Hotel Placete de Mañara at no additional cost to you.
b. Choosing an alternative room or date(s) where available at the price originally quoted to you for the cancelled reservation.
c.  Cancelling your reservation with a full refund of any monies paid by you. Force Majeure being circumstances beyond our control including (but not limited to) industrial disputes, natural disasters, fire, inclement weather, technical problems and acts of Government.

Non-arrivals will be subject to a fee of 100% of the cost of the first night’s accommodation as per terms described in section 3.

Group reservations (4 rooms or more) a non refundable 50% deposit will be charged to your credit or debit card at the time of booking. In the event of your cancellation of a group booking by you, or non arrival we reserve the right to charge the balance of 50% to any credit or debit card used to guarantee the booking.

The Hotel El Gecko operates a no children policy under the age of 16 years. Children over the age of 16 are able to occupy a room on their own and will be charged at the published rate.

Children remain the responsibility of the parent or guardian at all times. Due to the minimum age limit there are no baby listening or sitting services. Parents and guardians are responsible for the safety of their children in the pool area, there are no lifeguard services.

Rooms will be available from 14.00 on the stated day of arrival.
Rooms must be vacated by 11.00 on the day of departure. Rooms not vacated by 12.00 noon are subject to an additional charge equivalent to the cost of one night accommodation, at the discretion of the hotel.

Pets are not permitted in the hotel. Guide dogs for the blind and hearing dogs for the deaf are permitted by prior arrangement only.

Electrical equipment is brought to the hotel and used at your own risk.

It is advised that you make any lunch and dinner reservations prior to your arrival at the hotel

Full payment for rooms is required on arrival. Credit facilities will only be extended to you during your stay upon production of a valid credit or debit card. This enables you to charge food and drinks to your room account and to settle these charges on departure. Not supporting these charges with a credit or debit card will mean that all consumables purchased during your stay will be charged at the time of ordering.

All room rates are inclusive of IVA (VAT) at 7% and include continental breakfast unless otherwise stated.  Additional food and beverages are exclusive of IVA (VAT) and will be subject to tax at the applicable rate(s) (currently 7% or 16%). 

The Hotel el Gecko operates a policy of 2-night bookings over the weekend  period (Friday-Sunday inclusive). One night bookings will be accepted subject to availability. If the number of nights booked is subsequently reduced to one, the rate applicable to two nights will be charged.

Early booking, long stay and guests attending functions at the hotel entitled to a discount on the published room rate, please note - a discount cannot be used in addition to any other discount, offer or promotion. Only one discount applies. There are no discounts offered for children occupying their own rooms. 

There is limited on-street parking on the plaza in front of the hotel. Alternatively there is on-street parking a short distance from the hotel.

Should you be dissatisfied with any aspect of your stay you should contact the Hotel Manager who in most cases will be able to help you immediately.  In the unlikely event of the Manager being able to rectify the problem or if you remain dissatisfied please leave your complaint in writing at the hotel where any outstanding issues you may have will be resolved.

Receipt of a deposit, payment, credit or debit card number against a reservation will be deemed as acceptance of the terms and conditions as outlined above.

Any hotel guest acting in an unruly or threatening manner towards any other guest or member of staff will be asked to leave the hotel immediately.
Room safes are provided for the security of your valuables, no responsibility is accepted by the hotel for the security of a guests belongings.

In the event of you losing the keys to the room, safe or key card, one, or all, a charge of 50 euro’s will be charged to your account.
